Pre-School
The pre-school rooms provide early education for up to 30 children aged 3-5 years old. Commissioned by Renfrewshire Council to provide pre-school education, children can attend free for 5 mornings or afternoons for 2½ hour sessions for 38 weeks a year or you are able to top this up to full day care.
The pre-school room has the benefit of assistance from a qualified teacher and 4 qualified nursery nurses. Staff plan the many stimulating activities using the 3-5 curriculum, A Curriculum for Excellence and Assessment is for Learning guidance to ensure the children receive age appropriate provision across all areas of learning.
In these rooms we are teaching good social skills including co-operating with others as well as encouraging independence.
The children also enjoy using the computers and the SMART board to play lots of games about numbers, counting, shape and patterns.
The staff to child ratio is 1:8
The children have access to the outdoor area where a range of planned activities are available to them on a daily basis. This includes an area which is used to teach the children about caring for their environment, planting and minibeasts, among other things. There is also seated areas for smaller group activities and opportunities for the children to develop their physical skills.
We are also situated within a very safe walking distance of the local park which is used often for nature walks and picnics.
