Meals & Snacks
At Abbey we provide all the children receiving full day care with breakfast, lunch and snacks. We are committed to promoting healthy eating through a well balanced diet, encouraging children to eat a wide variety of foods.
The main meal is freshly prepared each day by our qualified cook and the weekly menu is displayed in each room. We cater for all dietary and cultural requirements at all times.
We value the importance of mealtimes and snack times as a social occasion and therefore staff sit with the children during mealtimes to assist them in using their cutlery properly and
encouraging good table manners.

Fresh chicken breast chopped and cooked with onions, fresh cream, natural yoghurt, paprika and a little mild curry powder served with plain rice and a small homemade naan bread.

Lean beef mince cooked with onions in a gravy with mashed potatoes and fresh carrot batons.

Lean gammon steak quarters served with pineapple, fresh mashed potatoes and vegetables.

Quiche Lorraine with Jacket Potatoes and Peas |
Homemade Vegetable Lasagne served with Salad |
Fresh fish mixed with mashed potato, made into a patty and tossed in egg and wholemeal breadcrumbs and cooked in the oven.

Individually made mini quiche consisting of homemade pastry filled with egg, cheese and chopped ham.
Followed by: |
A tomato and vegetable sauce layered with pasta sheets and bechamel sauce and topped with a sprinkling of cheese.
